Is it your turn to wine and dine guests this year? No worries! Throwing a party, without the stress, is possible! Simply prepare a few things in advance so you can enjoy the party, too!

Drinks

Keep your beers ice-cold in a cooler, refrigerate your wine, and if you’re a cocktail lover, try this delicious, reinvented Moscow mule. Another tip: set up your glasses ahead of time so you don’t have to run around looking for them when your guests arrive.

Gourmet cocktail hour

We love sharing boards because they are inviting and give a gourmet touch to your cocktail hour.  Set out array of local artisanal products and home-cooked treats. Add a selection of cheeses (vegan cheese too), pâtés and crackers, served with sauces or confits. That’s all there is to it! Try this yummy tofu and artichoke dip. Ready in only 10 minutes!

In need of a main dish?

Ideally, you should prepare a slow cooker recipe that can stew all day, or a dish that you can pop in the oven at any time. Try our vegetarian fall stew or our stuffed salmon. These delicious recipes are sure to please!

Dessert: the finishing touch!

I’m no dessert expert, but I think it’s the trickiest part of a meal, particularly since I don’t make it often. If you’re like me, try my no-cook chocolate and avocado pie with a pistachio crust. It’s tasty and easy to make, and will definitely win everyone over. The best part: it can be made in advance!

Creating your menu ahead of time and preparing your dishes and dessert the day before allows you to actually enjoy your party and soak in the conversations around your meal!

Happy hosting!
